| After visiting the reception of the exhibition "nothing to see here" in oslo this summer, i stepped out into the world. By the side of the road i found five, white, t-shaped building blocks. I picked them up and noticed that they were all marked with the inscription: this block is temporarily yours (in four different languages), the web address www.makewonders.com , and a six digit registration code. |

I got curious, brought the blocks home,
and checked out the web site. where i read: "Take our landscapes
personality back block by block. As our city landscapes become more and
more homogeneous with chain shops, strip malls and uninspired architecture,
the personality, taste and uniqueness in all of us is being lost. This
project is the colorful punctuation of today´s landscape which is
becoming too average. Each block´s shape is unique, with errors,
lines and feeling, just like people. All we ask is that you express yourself
using these blocks, and put a little bit of your vision back into the
landscape." And so I did, registering the blocks and making the animation
to the left (press > to play). |
